Small leagues and small markets in basketball betting
Small markets are the markets of minor leagues and tournaments: lower divisions, youth and women's leagues, national championships outside the top tier. Compared with the NBA or the EuroLeague, fewer people follow them.
How they differ from top leagues
Small leagues usually have lower stake limits, a higher bookmaker margin and less open data: statistics, lineups and news are harder to find. Lines can be less accurate, but a mistake in your own estimate costs more because there is less information.
What you can check
Compare the total with the league and team averages, see how much it moved from open to tip-off, and remember that one league can include both very high-scoring and very slow teams. This takes league statistics, not general impressions.
Be careful
A small league is not a guarantee of easy money. Small samples, limited stakes, possible data errors and a higher margin all work against you. Start with analysis and small amounts.
LineVS league and team pages collect average totals, points per quarter and results for leagues around the world, including small ones.
